TAA training at Falcon Field, Mesa, AZ

We offer TAA, or Technically Advanced Airplane, training out of Falcon Field in Mesa, AZ!

In 14 CFR 61.129(a)(3)(ii), the FAA requires pilots who are working toward their commercial pilot certificate to get at least "10 hours of training in a complex airplane, a turbine-powered airplane, or a technically advanced airplane (TAA) that meets the requirements of paragraph (j) of this section, or any combination thereof." (https://www.law.cornell.edu/cfr/text/14/61.129)

A Technically Advanced Airplane, which they define a little later in the regulations, must have three things:

  1. An electronic Primary Flight Display (PFD) which shows your flight instruments
  2. An electronic Multifunction Display (MFD) which shows a moving map utilizing GPS
  3. And A two axis autopilot integrated with the navigation and heading guidance system (14 CFR 61.129(j))
We have multiple airplanes that fit these parameters, and will satisfy the required TAA training for your commercial pilot certificate.  We can provide all the flight training for your commercial pilot certificate, or just the TAA time that you need.

We would be more than happy to answer any questions you have about this requirement -- Contact us today, and let's work together to get it done!

Happy flying!
